English Translation
Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah informed us, from Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn Malik, that Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn 'Ata' narrated to him, he said: 'I saw al-Sa'ib smelling his garment. I said to him: Why is that? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There is nothing wrong with perfume for men whose scent is apparent and whose color is hidden, and perfume for women whose color is apparent and whose scent is hidden."'
