English Translation

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from 'Ammar ibn Abi 'Ammar, from Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) who said: My father was killed on the day of Uhud and left behind two orchards. A Jew had a debt owed from my father, and the Jew's debt of dates would consume all the produce of the two orchards. the Prophet ﷺ said to the Jew: 'Take the dates from one of the two orchards as your portion.' He refused. the Prophet ﷺ said to me: 'Go and pick the dates.' So I picked them and brought them to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ stood among the rows and supplicated. Then he said: 'Call your creditor.' He paid his due in full from one orchard, and the second orchard remained as it was.
