English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Jarir, meaning Ibn Hazim, narrated to us, he said: I heard Nafi' say: Ibn 'Umar used to order the killing of all snakes, not sparing any of them, until Abu Lubabah al-Badri ibn 'Abd al-Mundhir narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the killing of the house snakes (jinnān). So Ibn 'Umar ceased from that.
