Abu Sa'd al-Saghani Muhammad ibn Muyassar narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited muhaqalah (selling unharvested grain for harvested grain), muzabanah (selling fresh dates for dried dates by estimation), mukhabarah (sharecropping), selling fruit before it ripens, and selling except by dinar and dirham — except for 'araya (selling a limited amount of dates on the tree for dried dates).
