English Translation

Ḥasan narrated to us: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us, from Zabbān, from Sahl ibn Muʿādh, from his father [Muʿādh ibn Anas al-Juhanī] (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ who said: 'Whoever gives for the sake of Allāh the Exalted, withholds for the sake of Allāh the Exalted, loves for the sake of Allāh the Exalted, hates for the sake of Allāh the Exalted, and marries for the sake of Allāh the Exalted — then he has perfected his faith.'
