حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا زَبَّانُ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ أ

َبِيهِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ كَظَمَ غَيْظَهُ وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْتَصِرَ دَعَاهُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ حَتَّى يُخَيِّرَهُ فِي حُورِ الْعِينِ أَيَّتَهُنَّ شَاءَ وَمَنْ تَرَكَ أَنْ يَلْبَسَ صَالِحَ الثِّيَابِ وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ تَوَاضُعًا لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى دَعَاهُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ حَتَّى يُخَيِّرَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فِي حُلَلِ الْإِيمَانِ أَيَّتَهُنَّ شَاءَ

English Translation

Ḥasan narrated to us: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us: Zabbān narrated to us, from Sahl ibn Muʿādh, from his father [Muʿādh ibn Anas al-Juhanī] (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ who said: 'Whoever suppresses his anger while he is able to act upon it, Allāh, Blessed and Exalted, will call him on the Day of Resurrection before all creation and give him the choice of whichever of the maidens of Paradise he wishes.'
