English Translation

Ḥasan narrated to us: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us: Zabbān ibn Fāʾid narrated to us, from Sahl, from his father [Muʿādh ibn Anas al-Juhanī] (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ who said: 'Shall I not inform you why Allāh, Blessed and Exalted, called Ibrāhīm His intimate friend (khalīl)? It is because he used to say: Glory be to Allāh (subḥānallāh) — in the morning and in the evening.'
