حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا السَّائِبُ بْنُ حُبَيْشٍ الكَلَاعِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الشَّمَّاخِ الْأَزْدِيِّ

عَنِ ابْنِ عَمٍّ لَهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَى مُعَاوِيَةَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ وَلِيَ أَمْرًا مِنْ أَمْرِ النَّاسِ ثُمَّ أَغْلَقَ بَابَهُ دُونَ الْمِسْكِينِ وَالْمَظْلُومِ أَوْ ذِي الْحَاجَةِ أَغْلَقَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى دُونَهُ أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِهِ عِنْدَ حَاجَتِهِ وَفَقْرِهِ أَفْقَرُ مَا يَكُونُ إِلَيْهَا

English Translation

Muʿāwiyah ibn ʿAmr and Abū Saʿīd narrated to us. They said: Zāʾidah narrated to us, saying: al-Sāʾib ibn Ḥubaysh al-Kalāʿī narrated to us, from Abū al-Shammākh al-Azdī, from a paternal cousin of his who was among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever has three daughters and is patient with them, feeds them, clothes them, and gives them drink from his wealth — they will be a shield for him from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.'
