حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ لَطَمْتُ مَوْلًى لَنَا ثُمَّ جِئْتُ وَأَبِي فِي الظُّهْرِ فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ اتَّئِدْ مِنْهُ فَعَفَا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ كُنَّا وَلَدَ مُقَرِّنٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ ا
للَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعَةً لَيْسَ لَنَا إِلَّا خَادِمٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَلَطَمَهَا أَحَدُنَا فَبَلَغَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَعْتِقُوهَا فَقَالُوا لَيْسَ لَنَا خَادِمٌ غَيْرُهَا قَالَ فَلْيَسْتَخْدِمُوهَا فَإِذَا اسْتَغْنَوْا فَلْيُخَلُّوا سَبِيلَهَا

English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us, from Salamah, from Muʿāwiyah ibn Suwayd who said: I slapped a freed slave of ours, then I came while my father was at the Ẓuhr prayer. I prayed with him. When he finished, he took my hand and said: 'Be gentle with him.' And [the slave] pardoned. Then he began narrating: 'We were seven brothers of the Banū Muqarrin and we had only one servant. The youngest of us slapped her, and the Prophet ﷺ ordered us to free her.'
