حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ

أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَغْلِقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ وَأَوْكِئُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ وَخَمِّرُوا الْآنِيَةَ وَأَطْفِئُوا السُّرُجَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ غَلَقًا وَلَا يَحُلُّ وِكَاءً وَلَا يَكْشِفُ إِنَاءً وَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ وَلَا تُرْسِلُوا فَوَاشِيَكُمْ وَصِبْيَانَكُمْ إِذَا غَابَتْ الشَّمْسُ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ فَحْمَةُ الْعِشَاءِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ تُبْعَثُ إِذَا غَابَتْ الشَّمْسُ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ فَحْمَةُ الْعِشَاءِ

English Translation

Musa ibn Dawud narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Close the doors, tie the mouths of the water-skins, cover the vessels, and extinguish the lamps. For indeed the little mouse may drag the wick and set the house ablaze over its sleeping inhabitants.'
