حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَا
بِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السَّلَمِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ يُصَلِّي فَلَا يَبْصُقْ أَمَامَهُ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَلْيَبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْهِ

English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Musa ibn 'Uqbah, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Sulami (رضي الله عنهما) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'When one of you is praying, let him not spit in front of him, for Allah (عز وجل) is before him when he prays. Let him spit to his left or beneath his foot. If he cannot, then into his garment like this' — and he demonstrated by gathering the edge of his garment.
