Hadith #104
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ حَد
َّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَحَّازُ بْنُ جُدَيٍّ الْحَنَفِيُّ عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِالْقُدُورِ فَأُكْفِئَتْ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ وَكَانَ فِيهَا لُحُومُ حُمُرِ النَّاسِ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, Ḥarb ibn Shaddād narrated to us, Yaḥyā — meaning Ibn Abī Kathīr — narrated to us, he said: Naḥḥāz ibn Judayy al-Ḥanafī narrated to me, from Sinān ibn Salamah, that his father narrated to him that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ commanded Bilāl to call the adhān before dawn so that those who were eating sahūr would finish, and those who were praying (tahajjud) would be alerted to the approaching dawn.
