English Translation

Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, he said: ʿĀṣim ibn Abī al-Najūd narrated to us, from al-Ḥārith ibn Ḥassān al-Bakrī, who said: We arrived in Madīnah, and there was the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ on the pulpit, with Bilāl standing before him wearing a sword. And there were black banners. I asked: 'What are these banners?' They said: 'That is ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ who has arrived from an expedition.'
