قَالَ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَجْعَلُ فِي قَسْمِ الْغَنَائِمِ عَشْرًا مِنْ الشَّاءِ بِبَعِيرٍ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَأَكْثَرُ عِلْمِي أَنِّي قَدْ

سَمِعْتُ مِنْ سَعِيدٍ هَذَا الْحَرْفَ وَجَعَلَ عَشْرًا مِنْ الشَّاءِ بِبَعِيرٍ وَقَدْ حَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ عَنْهُ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ مِنْ سُفْيَانَ هَذَا الْحَرْفَ

English Translation

He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that and the Prophet ﷺ used to assign in the division of war booty ten sheep in exchange for one camel. Shuʿbah said: Most of my knowledge is that I heard this phrase from Saʿīd — that he assigned ten sheep in exchange for one camel. And ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar has narrated to me from Saʿīd ibn Masrūq.
