Hadith #15
Arabic Text
وَأَصَابَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهْبًا فَنَدَّ بَعِيرٌ مِنْهَا فَسَعَوْا فَلَمْ يَسْتَطِيعُوهُ فَرَمَاهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ بِسَهْمٍ فَحَبَسَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ لِهَذِهِ الْإِبِلِ أَوْ النَّعَمِ أَوَابِدَ كَأَوَابِدِ الْوَحْشِ فَإِذَا غَلَبَكُمْ شَيْءٌ مِنْهَا فَاصْنَعُوا بِهِ هَكَذَا
English Translation
And the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ obtained war booty, and a camel from it fled. The people chased it but could not catch it, so a man from the people shot it with an arrow and stopped it. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'These camels — or livestock — have wildness like the wildness of wild animals. So if any of them overpowers you, then do the same to it.'
