قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ عَنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ لَمَّا الْتَقَيْنَا نَحْنُ وَالْقَوْمُ
يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَنَا إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ يَعْنِي غَشُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ وَأُرَاهُ قَالَ وَاسْتَبْقُوا نَبْلَكُمْ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Zubayr narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Ghasīl informed us, from ʿAbbās ibn Sahl, from Ḥamzah ibn Abī Usayd, from his father, who said: When we met the enemy on the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to us that day: 'When they come close to you' — meaning when they advance upon you — 'shoot them with arrows.' And I believe he said: 'And conserve your arrows.'
