قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَبِيبُ بْنُ غَرْقَدَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَحْوَصِ
قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَجْنِي جَانٍ إِلَّا عَلَى نَفْسِهِ لَا يَجْنِي وَالِدٌ عَلَى وَلَدِهِ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ عَلَى وَالِدِهِ

English Translation
Abū Saʿīd — the freed slave of Banū Hāshim — narrated to us: Zāʾidah narrated to us: Shabīb ibn Gharqadah narrated to us, from Sulaymān ibn ʿAmr ibn al-Aḥwaṣ: my father narrated to me that he witnessed the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'No criminal commits a crime except against himself. No parent bears the crime of his child, and no child bears the crime of his parent.'
