قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الْأَشْعَرِي

ُّ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ أَيُّمَا شَجَرَةٍ أَظَلَّتْ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فَصَاحِبُهُ بِالْخِيَارِ مِنْ قَطْعِ مَا أَظَلَّ أَوْ أَكْلِ ثَمَرِهَا

English Translation
Haytham narrated to us: ʿAbdullāh ibn Maymūn al-Ashʿarī narrated to us, from al-ʿAlāʾ ibn al-Ḥārith, from Makhūl, who raised it (to the Prophet ﷺ), he said: 'Whatever tree shades over a people, its owner has the choice between cutting what gives shade or letting them eat its fruit.'
