حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي خُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ
مَسْعُودِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ قَالَ أَتَانَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ فِي مَسْجِدِنَا فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا خَرَصْتُمْ فَخُذُوا وَدَعُوا دَعُوا الثُّلُثَ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجُدُّوا أَوْ تَدَعُوا فَالرُّبُعَ

English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: Shuʿbah narrated to us: Khubayb ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān informed me, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Masʿūd ibn Niyār, who said: Sahl ibn Abī Ḥathmah came to us in our mosque and said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'When you estimate (the harvest), take (your due) and leave a third. If you do not leave — or do not harvest — a third, then a quarter.'
