قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُل
Body (Matn)
َيْكَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا سِوَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَتَّى أَلْقَاهُ لَاتَّخَذْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ جَعَلَ الْجَدَّ أَبًا
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from Ibn al-Zubayr who said: The one to whom the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'If I were to take a khalīl (intimate friend) other than Allāh عز وجل until I meet Him, I would have taken Abū Bakr' — he made the grandfather [inherit as] a father.
