حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّث

َنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ ثُوَيْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ هَذَا يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ فَصُومُوا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِصَوْمِهِ

English Translation
Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, Isrāʾīl narrated to us, from Thuwayr who said: I heard ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Zubayr while he was on the pulpit saying: 'This is the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ, so fast it, for the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ commanded its fasting.'
