Arabic Text
قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ عُدُسٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الرُّؤْيَا عَلَى رِجْلِ طَائِرٍ
مَا لَمْ تُعَبَّرْ فَإِذَا عُبِّرَتْ وَقَعَتْ قَالَ وَالرُّؤْيَا جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنْ النُّبُوَّةِ قَالَ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ لَا يَقُصُّهَا إِلَّا عَلَى وَادٍّ أَوْ ذِي رَأْيٍ

English Translation
Hushaym narrated to us, Yaʿlā ibn ʿAṭāʾ informed us, from Wakīʿ ibn ʿUdus, from his uncle Abū Razīn who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'A dream hangs on the leg of a bird as long as it is not interpreted. Once interpreted, it falls [into reality].' He also said: 'A dream is one forty-sixth part of prophethood.' He said: And I think he said: 'One should only relate it to a loving friend or a person of sound judgment.'
