قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُشَيْرٍ الْجُعْفِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ فَبَايَعْنَا وَإِنَّ قَمِيصَهُ لَمُطْلَقٌ فَبَايَعْتُهُ فَأَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي مِنْ جَيْبِ الْقَمِيصِ فَمَسِسْتُ الْخَاتَمَ قَالَ عُرْوَةُ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَلَا أَبَاهُ شِتَاءً وَلَا حَرًّا إِلَّا مُطْلِقَيْ أَزْرَارِهِمَا لَا يَزُرَّانِ أَبَدًا

English Translation
Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us, he said: Abū Khaythamah narrated to us, from ʿUrwah ibn ʿAbdillāh ibn Qushayr al-Juʿfī, he said: Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrah narrated to me, from his father who said: I came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ with a group from Muzaynah, and we pledged allegiance to him. His shirt was unbuttoned, so when I pledged allegiance, I inserted my hand through the opening of his shirt and touched the Seal [of Prophethood]. ʿUrwah said: I never saw Muʿāwiyah or his father, in winter or summer, except with their buttons unfastened — they never buttoned up.
