قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبِي لَقَدْ عَمَّرْنَا مَعَ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَّى ا
للَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَا لَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَانِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا الْأَسْوَدَانِ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ

English Translation
Sulaymān narrated to us, Rawḥ narrated to us, he said: Bisṭām ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrah who said: My father said: We lived with our Prophet ﷺ and we had no food except al-aswadān (the two black things). Then he said: "Do you know what the two black things are?" I said: No. He said: "Dates and water."
