قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَخُطُّونَ إِلَى أَقْوَامٍ مَا
هُمْ بِأَعْلَمَ بِحَدِيثِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَّا قُتِلَ أَبِي يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا وَكَانَ أَبِي أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا فَقُدِّمَ

English Translation
Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Ayyūb, from Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl, from Hishām ibn ʿĀmir who said: You pass by me on your way to people who are not more knowledgeable of the hadith of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ than us. My father was killed on the day of Uḥud, and the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Dig, make the graves wide, and bury two and three in a single grave, and put forward the one who memorized more Qurʾān." And my father was the one who had memorized most Qurʾān, so he was put forward.
