English Translation

ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to us, Ayyūb narrated to us, from Ḥumayd, from Abū al-Dahmāʾ, from Hishām ibn ʿĀmir who said: They complained to the Prophet ﷺ about the wounds they had suffered, and he said: "Dig, do it well, make the graves wide, and bury two and three in a single grave." So my father died and was put forward before two men. Wahb ibn Jarīr narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to us, he said: I heard Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl narrating from Saʿd ibn Hishām, from his father Hishām ibn ʿĀmir, who said: On the day of Uḥud — and he mentioned the hadith. ʿAffān narrated to us, he said: I heard Jarīr ibn Ḥāzim narrating this hadith from Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl, and he added: from Saʿd ibn Hishām, and he added in it: "and make them deep."
