قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ طَلْقٍ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ شَهِدَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ لَهُ شَيْئًا فَلَمَّا أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ طَارَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ ثَوْبَيْهِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِمَا
English Translation
Yūnus narrated to us, Abān narrated to us, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr, from ʿĪsā ibn Khuthaym, from Qays ibn Ṭalq, that his father was present with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ when a man asked him about praying in a single garment. He did not say anything to him. When the prayer was called, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ layered his two garments together and prayed in them.
