حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَجَّاجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي مَغَالَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَبَا طَلْحَةَ بْنَ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّيْنِ يَقُولَانِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ امْرِئٍ يَخْذُلُ امْرَأً مُسْلِمًا عِنْدَ مَوْطِنٍ تُنْتَهَكُ فِيهِ حُرْمَتُهُ وَيُنْتَقَصُ فِيهِ مِنْ عِرْضِهِ إِلَّا خَذَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُحِبُّ فِيهِ نُصْرَتَهُ وَمَا مِنْ امْرِئٍ يَنْصُرُ امْرَأً مُسْلِمًا فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُنْتَقَصُ فِيهِ مِنْ عِرْضِهِ وَيُنْتَهَكُ فِيهِ مِنْ حُرْمَتِهِ إِلَّا نَصَرَهُ اللَّهُ فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُحِبُّ فِيهِ نُصْرَتَهُ

English Translation
Aḥmad ibn Ḥajjāj narrated to us, he said: ʿAbdullāh — meaning Ibn al-Mubārak — informed us, he said: Layth ibn Saʿd informed us — and he mentioned a hadith. He said: Layth ibn Saʿd narrated to me, he said: Yaḥyā ibn Sulaym ibn Zayd, the freedman of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, narrated to me that he heard Ismāʿīl ibn Bashīr, the freedman of Banū Maghālah, say: I heard Jābir ibn ʿAbdillāh and Abū Ṭalḥah ibn Sahl al-Anṣāriyyayn say: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "No Muslim abandons another Muslim in a situation where his honor is being violated and his reputation is being diminished, except that Allāh عز وجل will abandon him in a situation where he desires His help. And no Muslim supports another Muslim in a situation where his reputation is being diminished and his honor is being violated, except that Allāh will support him in a situation where he desires His help."
