English Translation

ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, Sufyān narrated to us, Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to us, from Busr ibn Miḥjan, from his father — and ʿAbd al-Razzāq said: Maʿmar informed us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Busr ibn Miḥjan, from his father — who said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ and the iqāmah was called for prayer, but I sat down. When he finished praying, he said to me: 'Are you not a Muslim?' I said: 'Indeed I am.' He said: 'Then what prevented you from praying with the people?' I said: 'I had already prayed at home.' He said: 'Pray with the people even if you have already prayed at home.' Abū Nuʿaym narrated to us, Sufyān narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Busr ibn Miḥjan al-Dīlī, from his father who said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ having already prayed at home, and the iqāmah was called — and he mentioned the same meaning as the hadith of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān.
