Hadith #58

English Translation

Ismāʿīl ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us, he said: Khālid narrated to us, from ʿAbdullāh ibn Shaqīq, who said: I sat with a group of men — I was the fourth of them — in Iliyāʾ (Jerusalem). One of them said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: 'Paradise will surely be entered through the intercession of a man from my ummah by more than (the tribes of) Rabīʿah and Muḍar.' We said: 'O so-and-so, who is that man?' He said: 'I am not telling you until the shaykh (meaning ʿAbdullāh ibn Abī al-Jadʿāʾ) passes away.' So when he passed away, he said: 'That is ʿAbdullāh ibn Abī al-Jadʿāʾ.'
