English Translation
Abū al-Naḍr narrated to us, he said: Abū Muʿāwiyah — meaning Shaybān — narrated to us, from Layth, from Shahr, he said: The Anṣārī who was in charge of the sacrificial camels (budn) of the Prophet ﷺ narrated to me that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, when he sent him, said: I returned and said: Yes, O Messenger of Allāh, what do you command me regarding those that become injured or disabled? He said: Slaughter it, then dip its sandal-mark (shoe tied to its neck) in its blood, then place it on its side, and do not eat from it — neither you nor anyone from your traveling companions.
