حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ جَارُنَا قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ الْأَثْرَمُ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَّامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْقَارِئُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ ضِرَارِ بْنِ الْأَزْوَرِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ امْدُدْ يَدَكَ أُبَايِعْكَ
عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ قَالَ ضِرَارٌ ثُمَّ قُلْتُ تَرَكْتُ الْقِدَاحَ وَعَزْفَ الْقِيَانِ وَالْخَمْرَ تَصْلِيَةً وَابْتِهَالَا وَكَرِّي الْمُحَبَّرَ فِي غَمْرَةٍ وَحَمْلِي عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ الْقِتَالَا فَيَا رَبِّ لَا أُغْبَنَنْ صَفْقَتِي فَقَدْ بِعْتُ مَالِي وَأَهْلِي ابْتِدَالَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا غُبِنَتْ صَفْقَتُكَ يَا ضِرَارُ

English Translation
ʿAbdullāh narrated to us, he said: Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn ʿAbdillāh, our neighbor, narrated to us, he said: Muḥammad ibn Saʿīd al-Bāhilī al-Athram al-Baṣrī narrated to us, he said: Sallām ibn Sulaymān al-Qāriʾ narrated to us, he said: ʿĀṣim ibn Bahdala narrated to us, from Abū Wāʾil, from Ḍirār ibn al-Azwar, who said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'Extend your hand so I may pledge allegiance to you upon Islam.' Ḍirār then recited: 'I have left the divining arrows and the playing of singing-girls, and wine — in devotion and supplication. And my charging of the adorned horse into the fray, and my bearing of combat against the polytheists. So O my Lord, let my bargain not be cheated, for I have sold my wealth and my family in exchange.' The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'Your bargain has not been cheated, O Ḍirār.'
