English Translation

Al-Miqdām — meaning Ibn Maʿdīkarib — narrated, and he was with Khālid ibn al-Walīd: When Khaybar was conquered, the people hastened to the wealth. When the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ came out to them and it was time for prayer, he said: 'Come together for prayer.' He said: And the people were in such a state that they did not come together until Allāh put the desire in their hearts. Then the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ prayed and said: 'No one enters Paradise except a Muslim soul. The property of a people under treaty is not lawful for you without its due right. Domestic donkeys are forbidden, and horses, and mules, and every beast of prey with fangs, and every bird with talons.' The Miqdām also said: 'And do not cut down a fruit-bearing tree, and do not slaughter a sheep or cow or camel except for food. And if you meet your brothers from the people of herding, greet them with salām.'
