حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو مَرْوَانُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ الْجَزَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خُصَيْفٌ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَعَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ أخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَل
َّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَصَّرَ مِنْ شَعَرِهِ بِمِشْقَصٍ فَقُلْنَا لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَا بَلَغَنَا هَذَا إِلَّا عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقَالَ مَا كَانَ مُعَاوِيَةُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَّهَمًا

English Translation
Ibn ʿAbbās narrated that Muʿāwiyah informed him that he saw the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ trim his hair with a mishqaṣ [a broad-headed arrow used as a blade]. We said to Ibn ʿAbbās: 'We only know this from Muʿāwiyah.' He said: 'Muʿāwiyah was not accused [of inaccuracy] regarding the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.'
