حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ خَرَجَ عُمَرُ عَلَى النَّاسِ يَضْرِبُهُمْ عَلَى السَّجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى مَرَّ بِتَمِيمٍ ال
دَّارِيِّ فَقَالَ لَا أَدَعُهُمَا صَلَّيْتُهُمَا مَعَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَوْ كَانُوا كَهَيْئَتِكَ لَمْ أُبَالِ

English Translation
Tamīm al-Dārī narrated — via Hishām from his father — : ʿUmar came out to the people, striking them for praying the two rakʿahs after ʿAṣr, until he passed by Tamīm al-Dārī. Tamīm said: 'I will not leave them — I prayed them with one who is better than you: the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.' ʿUmar said: 'If the people were all like you, I would not have minded.'
