‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏بَحِيرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ ‏ ‏رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏بَاسِطًا يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ ‏ ‏مَا أَكَلَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ طَعَامًا فِي الدُّنْيَا خَيْرًا لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدَيْهِ ‏

English Translation

Al-Ḥakam ibn Nāfiʿ narrated to us saying: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, from Baḥīr ibn Saʿd, from Khālid ibn Maʿdān, from al-Miqdām ibn Maʿdī Karib رضي الله عنه, that he saw the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ extending his hands, saying: "None of you eats food in the worldly life better for him than eating from the work of his own hands."
