Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ بَحِيرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَاسِطًا يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ مَا أَكَلَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ طَعَامًا فِي الدُّنْيَا خَيْرًا لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدَيْهِ
English Translation
Al-Ḥakam ibn Nāfiʿ narrated to us saying: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, from Baḥīr ibn Saʿd, from Khālid ibn Maʿdān, from al-Miqdām ibn Maʿdī Karib رضي الله عنه, that he saw the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ extending his hands, saying: "None of you eats food in the worldly life better for him than eating from the work of his own hands."
