َلِيٍّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَعَلَّمُوا كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَتَعَاهَدُوهُ وَتَغَنُّوا بِهِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَلُّتًا مِنْ الْمَخَاضِ فِي الْعُقُلِ

English Translation

ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The one who recites the Quran aloud is like the one who gives charity openly, and the one who recites the Quran silently is like the one who gives charity in secret."
