حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا قَبَاثُ بْنُ رَزِينٍ اللَّخْمِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ رَبَاحٍ اللَّخْمِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ يَقُولُ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ نَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ فَدَخَ
لَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا فَرَدَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ ثُمَّ قَالَ تَعَلَّمُوا كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَاقْتَنُوهُ قَالَ وَحَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ وَتَغَنُّوا بِهِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَلُّتًا مِنْ الْمَخَاضِ مِنْ الْعُقُلِ

علي بن رباح اللخمي يقول
English Translation
ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir al-Juhanī narrated: We were sitting in the mosque reciting the Quran when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered and greeted us. We returned his greeting. Then he said: "Learn the Book of Allah and hold fast to it" — and I think he said: "and recite it beautifully — for by the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muḥammad, it slips away more easily than camels from their hobbles."
