حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ كُنْتُ أُحَدِّثُ عَنْ
أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ حَدِيثًا فَلَقِيتُهُ وَهُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَحَدَّثَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ قَرَأَ الْآيَتَيْنِ الْآخِرَتَيْنِ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ كَفَتَاهُ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us saying: Shuʿbah narrated to us — and Ḥajjāj said: Shuʿbah informed us — from Manṣūr, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Yazīd, who said: I used to narrate a ḥadīth from Abū Masʿūd, and then I met him while he was performing ṭawāf around the Kaʿbah, so I asked him and he narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "Whoever recites the last two verses of Sūrat al-Baqarah in a night, they will suffice him."
