حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ أَخِيهِ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ حِمَارٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ وَجَدَ لُقَطَةً فَلْيُشْهِدْ ذَوَيْ عَدْلٍ وَلْيَحْفَظْ عِفَاصَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا فَإِنْ جَاءَ ص
َاحِبُهَا فَلَا يَكْتُمْ وَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِئْ صَاحِبُهَا فَإِنَّهُ مَالُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي إِنَّ قَوْمًا يَقُولُونَ عِقَاصَهَا وَيَقُولُونَ عِفَاصَهَا قَالَ عِفَاصَهَا بِالْفَاءِ

English Translation
ʿIyāḍ ibn Ḥimār narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever finds a lost item, let him have two just witnesses, and let him preserve its container and its tying string. If the owner comes, he should not conceal it, and the owner has more right to it. If the owner does not come, then it is the wealth of Allah — He gives it to whom He wills."
