حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ الْكِنَانِيِّ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْهُ كَذَا فِي الْحَدِيث

ِ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عُمْرَتُنَا هَذِهِ لِعَامِنَا هَذَا أَوْ لِلْأَبَدِ قَالَ لِلْأَبَدِ

English Translation

Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Malik, who said: I heard Ṭāwūs narrating from Surāqah ibn Juʿshum al-Kinānī — and he did not hear it directly from him, as stated in the hadith — that he asked the Prophet ﷺ saying: "O Messenger of Allah, is this ʿumrah of ours for this year or for all time?" He said: "For all time."
