English Translation
al-Ḥakam al-Ghifārī رضي الله عنه said to a man: "Do you remember when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited al-dubbāʾ (gourd vessels), al-ḥantam (green-glazed jars), al-muqayyar (pitch-coated vessels), and al-naqīr (hollowed-out tree trunks)?" He said: And I bear witness — and he did not mention al-muqayyar, or he mentioned al-naqīr, or he mentioned both of them together.
