حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا وَبْرُ بْنُ أَبِي دُلَيْلَةَ شَيْخٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الطَّائِفِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مُسَيْكَةَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشّ

َرِيدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيُّ الْوَاجِدِ يُحِلُّ عِرْضَهُ وَعُقُوبَتَهُ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ عِرْضُهُ شِكَايَتُهُ وَعُقُوبَتُهُ حَبْسُهُ

English Translation

ʿAmr ibn al-Sharīd narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The delay of the wealthy man in paying his debt permits his honor and his punishment." Wakīʿ said: "His honor means complaining about him, and his punishment means imprisoning him."
