حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ هَلْ سَمِعَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهَا شَيْئًا فَقَامَ الْمُغِيرَة
ُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ فَقَالَ شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْضِي لَهَا بِالسُّدُسِ فَقَالَ هَلْ سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ مَعَكَ أَحَدٌ فَقَامَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ فَقَالَ شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْضِي لَهَا بِالسُّدُسِ فَأَعْطَاهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ السُّدُسَ

English Translation
Qabīṣah ibn Dhuʾayb narrated that Abū Bakr رضي الله عنه said regarding the grandmother's inheritance: "Has anyone among you heard anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it?" al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah stood and said: "I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rule that she receives one-sixth." He said: "Did anyone else hear it with you?" Muḥammad ibn Maslamah stood and said: "I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rule that she receives one-sixth." So Abū Bakr gave her the one-sixth.
