حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَسْلَمَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ هُبَيْبَ بْنَ مُغْفِلٍ صَاحِبَ
النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَأَى رَجُلًا يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ خَلْفَهُ وَيَطَؤُهُ خُيَلَاءَ فَقَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ وَطِئَهُ مِنْ الْخُيَلَاءِ وَطِئَهُ فِي النَّارِ

English Translation
Qutaybah ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb, from Aslam, that he heard Hubayb ibn Mughfil, Companion of the Prophet ﷺ — and he saw a man dragging his garment behind him, treading on it out of arrogance — and he said: 'SubḥānAllāh! I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ saying: "Whoever treads on it out of arrogance will be trodden upon in the Fire."'
