حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ أَنَّ أَبَا الْغَرِيفِ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَا
لَ قَالَ صَفْوَانُ بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ قَالَ سِيرُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تُقَاتِلُونَ أَعْدَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا وَلِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ إِذَا أَدْخَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى طُهُورٍ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ

English Translation
Aswad ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us, he said: Zuhayr informed us, from Abū Rawq al-Hamdānī, that Abū al-Gharīf narrated to them, who said: Ṣafwān said: 'The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ dispatched us in a military expedition and said: "March in the name of Allāh, in the cause of Allāh. Do not steal from the war spoils and do not kill a child. For the traveler, three days and their nights of wiping over the leather socks if he puts his feet in while in a state of purity, and for the resident, a day and a night."'
