Hadith #369
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ قَالَ قَمِلْتُ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ كُلَّ شَعْرَةٍ مِنْ رَأْسِي فِيهَا الْقَمْلُ مِنْ أَصْلِهَا
إِلَى فَرْعِهَا فَأَمَرَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ رَأَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ احْلِقْ وَنَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ قَالَ أَطْعِمْ سِتَّةَ مَسَاكِينَ ثَلَاثَةَ آصُعٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Hushaym narrated to us, Khālid informed us, from Abū Qilābah, from Kaʿb ibn ʿUjrah, who said: I had so many lice that I thought every hair on my head had lice from root to tip. the Prophet ﷺ commanded me when he saw that. He said: 'Shave.' And the verse was revealed. He said: 'Feed six needy persons three ṣāʿs of dates.'
