English Translation
ʿAffān narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, Manṣūr informed me, he said: I heard Ibrāhīm narrating from ʿUbayd ibn Nuḍaylah, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah Two women were married to a man, and one became jealous and struck the other with a tent pole, killing her. They brought their dispute to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. One of them said: 'O Messenger of Allah, how can we pay blood money for one who neither ate, nor drank, nor cried out, nor raised his voice?' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Rhymed prose like the rhymed prose of the Bedouins.' He ruled a ghurrah for the fetus, and placed it upon the killer's female relatives.
