Hadith #464

English Translation

Wakīʿ narrated to us, Misʿar narrated to us, from Abū Ṣakhrah Jāmiʿ ibn Shaddād, from Mughīrah ibn ʿAbdullāh, from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah رضي الله عنه who said: I was a guest of the Prophet ﷺ one night. He ordered a side of meat to be roasted. He said: He took a knife and began cutting pieces for me from it. Then Bilāl came to call him for prayer, so he put down the knife and said: 'What is wrong with him — may his hands be dusty!' al-Mughīrah said: My mustache had grown long, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ trimmed it for me on a miswāk — or he said: 'I will trim it for you on a miswāk.'
