حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ ا
للَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّارَ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ فَتَعَوَّذَ مِنْهَا وَأَشَاحَ بِوَجْهِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا فَبِكَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān and Ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, they said: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, from Khaythamah, from ʿAdī ibn Ḥātim رضي الله عنه who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the Fire — Ibn Jaʿfar said: He sought refuge from it and turned his face away — then he said: 'Protect yourselves from the Fire even with half a date; if you cannot find that, then with a good word.'
